We will discuss the Midterm review assignment for unit 1 tomorrow in class. Students are asked to complete this review for tomorrow if they have not already done so.
We finished reading and responding to our novel study today. I was not surprised to see some emotional responses to the end chapter but am glad to hear positive feedback about how the book was enjoyed. We will discuss the ending tomorrow and hand in the final set of questions prior to reflecting in our travel journals one last time. Great work everyone.

We visited the library briefly today to exchange and renew AR reading materials. Students used the remaining class time to work on their lost boy posters and listen to the intro to chapter 6 of our novel. We will complete reading and work on the poster tomorrow. We handed in the chapter 5 questions today after discussing the vocabulary portion of the assignment as a group. Students began working on their lost boy poster project. This poster is due for Friday and some additional time will be given tomorrow during library period.
Happy new year to everyone who checks this posting. It was great to see my students back and well rested after the break. In Language Arts we regrouped a bit to make sure everyone was caught up to the same place before we move forward with our novel study. Students are asked to have the chapter 5 questions complete for tomorrow. We reviewed these together in class and students had a good 1/2 hour to work towards completion if not already done. Those who finished their questions over the break, began working on their poster project (Lost Boy Milk Carton) after a brief journal entry #3. These assignments and entries are posted on the website here under ELA 8.
