We continued work on the interior illustrations for our book project. Students were to submit their photo for the author bio and binder for the book's cardboard covers. A number of students promised to bring one tomorrow. We discussed the interior title page and dedication page that can be completed once the interior illustrations are done. Good work so far everyone. Keep it up.

We began work on our interior illustrations for our book project. Band students who have not printed should be sure to have edited and revised their stories including the addition of white spaces for at least 5 interior illustrations. I will print these remaining stories first thing on Monday so we can all focus on illustration work. Please remember to bring in an author photograph and an old binder for Tuesday.
We completed the formatting and spacing for illustrations today prior to printing final drafts. Those students who have not yet printed should complete any final revisions and spacing so they are ready to print at the beginning of class tomorrow.
Rough drafts of our story project were due today. Students began peer editing and revision of these stories. Students are asked to have three or more people review their story and offer feedback for improvements. Revisions are due Thursday when we will begin layout and printing. Well done on this important deadline.

We continued our writing today in class. Students were strongly encouraged to complete their initial incident and develop the rising action from their outlines in their writing today. We will write tomorrow in class and determine if more time is needed for rough drafts. I have been very pleased with the diligent use of class time for writing.
We wrote for a solid class period today. Story work is making great headway. I am impressed with the creativity demonstrated. Rough drafts are due Thursday though students are permitted to use class time on Thursday to complete their story. I will sign off on completed rough drafts at the beginning of Friday's class prior to peer editing activities.
We completed a character analysis for the protagonists in our stories. Students used this activity to dive into their short stories. All students should have 1-2 pages written for tomorrow establishing the exposition of their story based on the plot diagram constructed in class.
