We handed in our escape plans for "Desperate Measures" and viewed the Peter Mansbridge interview of Gord Downie. After viewing, we discussed parallels between Downie's experiences and those in the biography "Life Life to the Max".

We completed a free writing response to a prompt related to the article "Live Life to the Max". After reading the article, students responded to the text. Escape plans are due for Monday.
We completed our unit 2, Business Letter, Exam in class today. Students worked very diligently during this class and I am proud of their focus.
We reviewed outline strategies and letter formatting for tomorrow's unit 2 exam. Students had the remaining class time to finish their escape plan project based on the short article "Desperate Measures". These escape plans are due Monday.
We completed revisions to business letters submitted last week in preparation for Thursday's exam. We continued our work on the escape plan based on "Desperate Measures" read in class yesterday.

We researched and discussed East and West Berlin during the Cold War in preparation for our next reading "Desperate Measures".
We reviewed criteria for fiction and non-fiction works and began our examination of a non-fiction work called "I was a Teenage Ingenue".
We revised and edited Letter #3 based on feedback given in Google classroom. Students selected their choice of #2 or #3 to hand in for assessment. Our Unit 2, Business Letter, exam is scheduled for next Tuesday, October 25.
We began writing Letter #3, planning and outlining independently. Students will continue writing this letter in class on Monday. We will choose from Letter #2 and Letter #3 for submission.
