We corrected the unit 1 review and practiced word problems for tomorrow's unit exam.
We corrected our word problem creation activity and completed the unit 1 review assignment sheet due for tomorrow. We will correct the review in class tomorrow and do some practice for the exam on Friday.
We had a short quiz and afterwards worked on creating problem solving questions based on equations. There is no homework this weekend.
We corrected page 28 #2-6 and completed an assessment sheet for 1.6 and 1.7. Students are using variable equations to solve problems. Those who did not hand in their assessment sheet in class are asked to have it completed for tomorrow.
We created word problems from variable equations. We completed page 28 #2,3,5,6 due tomorrow.
We discussed problem solving with variable equations and corrected page three of our variable equations booklet. Students completed the last page of this booklet and handed it in for assessment before moving on to page 28 #2,3,4,5,6, in their textbook.
We continued our work with using inverse operations to solve one step adding and subtracting equations. We spent the class period working on page 3 of our booklet, solving equations. Students are asked to complete page 3 of our booklet for tomorrow if they are not already done, so we can take these up before completing the assessment for this lesson.
We learned about variables, variable expressions, and equations today. We ended the class using inverse operations to solve for a variable in a one step addition or subtraction problem. Good work today everyone. We will continue working with equations on Monday to build on this success.
Students finished and handed in the 1.1 and 1.2 assessment sheet if they had not done so yesterday. We worked on page 13 #1-5 before doing some math Halloween activities for fun.
We handed back our unit 3 exams and reviewed them together. We corrected page 10 #2,3,4 and began our lesson for decreasing patterns. Students worked on the 1.1-1.2 assessment sheet and then moved on to page 13 #1-5.
