We completed our geologist's mystery lab responses and handed these in based on our observations yesterday. We completed the topic one review on page 360 #1-2 and began our notes on Rocks and the Rock Cycle.

We began our geologist's mystery lab, identifying five different minerals based on the properties we have learned about in topic 1.
We wrote our Unit D: Structures exam. Students were given the remaining class time to put the finishing touches on their structures project and write up which is due next Wednesday.
We reviewed for tomorrow's exam by going through the review assignment submitted and marked yesterday. Students used the computers to complete question #2 and 3 of their write up for the structures project and used remaining class time to complete the diagram and other questions. The project and write up is due Wednesday.
We began our examination of unit E: Planet Earth. Students explored the text intro and began work on their notes for mineral identification in preparation for our mineral identification lab. Students handed in their unit D exam review which is marked and will be handed back tomorrow as we prepare for Friday's exam.
We completed our unit 1 review package today in class. This review is due Wednesday and the Exam will be held Friday of this week. Students began working on the response questions for their stable structure project.
We completed our notes and reading for topic 7 and had some time to experiment with the gyroscopes as a demonstration of spin stabilization. The remaining class time was used to put the final members on our truss bridges for our stable structures projects.
Students worked with partners answering page 330's questions in the activity called "Tip It". We read and completed notes for topic 7.
We read pages 321-328 and completed our notes for topic 6. Students worked on the questions at the end of the topic page 328 #1,2,4,and 5. If not completed in class, these questions should be done for tomorrow so we may mark them before moving on.
We built the trusses for our truss bridge and began our notes for topic 6. We will complete the reading for pages 221-228 and notes tomorrow in class before completing our bridges.
