We reviewed the quiz from Wednesday and viewed a Bill Nye film on wetlands completing a KWL chart before and during the film.
We discussed and completed the food chains assignment and handed this in when finished. We discussed human impacts, positive and negative, on the wetlands and generated a brief list of these impacts in our notes.
We completed our exam and continued our work with food webs and food chains from last day.
We completed an activity related to food chains and the niches in each before correcting and discussing the quiz review sheet together that was handed in yesterday.
Students handed in their quiz review sheet. We completed an organizational chart outlining five different adaptations related to how organisms in the wetlands get oxygen. We also worked on a food web and responded to the relationships and connections found within this sample ecosystem.
We discussed our field trip and what should be brought along to make the day most enjoyable. A letter was sent home as a reminder. I'll attach a copy of the letter here. We completed our questions about life cycles and began a discussion of adaptations of plants and animals.
We completed our posters outlining the living organisms in and around the wetlands and began work on life cycles of common wetland creatures.
We had a practice quiz identifying the categories of living organisms in and around the wetland. We discussed life cycles and completed some fill in notes on four, three, and 2 stage metamorphosis. Students continued working on their "Wetland Life" poster project.
We began our poster project outlining species of plants and animals that live in and around the wetland ecosystem.
We completed an assignment on the living things in and around the wetlands and discussed the poster project that will help identify organisms living at each of the three levels we have learned about.
