We corrected the text work from page 65 and began our lesson 2.9 on rounding decimals. Students worked on page 67 #1,2,3,5 and 6. 5-1 was asked to get to the end of question 1 and 5-2 was asked to complete to the end of #3.
We reviewed the assessment assignment and completed any remaining questions before moving on to the equivalent decimals questions on page 65 #1-4 of the text. Students handed in their 2.6-2.7 assessment sheets. Any not submitted are due at the beginning of class tomorrow.
We corrected our Representing Thousandths booklet and began working on the assessment material for lessons 2.6-2.7. Students may work on this tonight or complete their remaining questions in class tomorrow before moving on.
We reviewed our quiz from last Friday and completed a review sheet on this same material that is due tomorrow if it was not completed during class time. We used the thousandths grid to read and express decimal numbers to the thousands place. Students received a small booklet "Representing Thousands" that we will continue to work with tomorrow.
We corrected our work from the textbook, page 57 #1-5, and completed a short quiz on rounding and expressing decimals. Students used the thousandths grid to model decimal numbers to the thousandths as well as their equivalent fractions. We will continue with this work on Monday.
We completed our notes for lesson 2.6 on Place Value and Decimals. We worked on an expanded form assignment sheet before beginning our work in the text book on page 57 #1, 3,4,5. We will finish these questions tomorrow in class prior to our short quiz.
We reviewed rounding and corrected our assessment sheets for 2.4 before returning them for final grading. Students used base 10 blocks to model decimal numbers to the thousandths place.
We completed our MIPI exam today which should provide helpful information to be used when planning for math this year. Students completed the 2.4 assignment sheet on rounding numbers when finished their MIPI and handed this in when they were done.
We logged into our google classroom for mathematics today and completed a short practice MIPI exam. We will complete the actual MIPI exam tomorrow. This test covers key material learned last year and is a diagnostic tool used to help plan and implement lessons this year to best support the needs of each student. Students do not need to study for the exam but are asked to do their best in class tomorrow. We corrected and discussed Lesson 2.4 in the text today reviewing rounding to the hundreds, ten thousands, and thousands.
Students corrected their work sheet assignments from last day and completed a short quiz on expanded notation and rounding. When finished, students continued their work on page 51 #1-4 in their text book.
