Unit B Topic 3. We completed our notes and discussion of topic three by examining seed dispersal in various plants and the process of germination. Students handed in their "Flower Parts and Functions" sheet and began working on the topic 3 review assignment using the text and notes as support.

Unit B Topic 3: We investigated the reproductive cycle of flowering plants and examined the growing embryo in seeds. Students completed their flower and reproduction assignment sheet in class. Those not finished are asked to complete this for submission tomorrow.
We completed our notes and discussed vegetative and sexual reproduction in plants. Students identified male and female cones and pollination in flowers. We began our flower and reproduction assignment in class and will complete this tomorrow to be handed in on Friday.
We completed the response and reflection questions for our Apple Varieties lab. This assignment is due to be handed in on Thursday.
We completed an apple variety lab activity testing five varieties of apples for characteristics they may have been selectively bred for. We will complete the reflection response questions tomorrow in class.
We began our discussion and notes on plant reproduction and breeding. Selective breeding and genetic modification were described through various examples. Great class contributions to these discussion today. Well done 7-1.
We completed the topic 1-2 quiz. Marks are in powerschool. Students read pages 114-122 in their text to prepare for topic 3. Our class size and schedule will shift tomorrow. New timetables will be distributed first thing in homeroom.
Students received their topic 2 review assignment and completed a study guide in preparation for tomorrow's topic 1-2 quiz. We reviewed key concepts and discussed the format of the exam. The study guide is posted here for anyone who may be needing an extra copy.
Students completed their notes and worked on review questions for topic 2. We reviewed the material that will be covered on Thursday's topic 1-2 quiz and will do so again tomorrow in class.
We read and completed our notes for stems and leaves. Students examined leaf structures and xylem cells in celery. We will finish off topic 2 notes tomorrow and begin our assessment questions in class.
