We viewed a film on prairie wetlands and completed questions based on the film. We then used this information to help identify living and non-living elements and their relationships within wetland ecosystems.
We handed in our anticipation page assignment and reorganized our binders for our Wetlands unit. We made an inventory of the living and non-living elements in our school grounds ecosystem and identified key relationships that exist between these parts. We will use this to help us complete the same for a wetlands ecosystem.
We completed an assignment reviewing the types of wetlands and living organisms found in them. Students then completed their anticipation page assignment due for tomorrow.
We discussed the monitoring of amphibians to determine the health of a wetland ecosystem and completed notes on the biotic and abiotic elements in a wetland. Students worked on their anticipation page of science that is due Friday.
We used the wonderville site to monitor the health of a wetland by counting amphibians and comparing our results to a previous study.
