We reviewed key events in chapters 14-17 and completed the personal response questions for these chapters that are due tomorrow. Students who have finished the novel and questions to accompany the chapters, began working through a practice PAT exam. All students will have an opportunity to work with these practice tests in the coming classes.

We completed our chapter 1-13 test for our novel study and continued work into part two of the novel. Chapters 14-17 questions are due Tuesday and we will discuss key details in the reading during Monday's class.
We discussed the review outline and terms sheet for the PAT part B June 27th. Students can use this pack to help prepare for the reading comprehension portion of their PAT in LA. We continued work on our novel study during the second half of the class period.
We completed reading and discussing chapter 13, the end of part one of our novel study. Students completed their chapter 10-13 questions and continued reading independently into part 2 of the novel. We will have a quiz on chapters 1-13 on Friday.
We read and discussed the events of chapters 10-12 in our novel study. Cole has been rescued from the island and it seems he has changed through this experience.

We completed our character sketch of Cole, the protagonist in our novel study and discussed key events in chapters 3-5. We will continue with our reading and response to chapters 6-9 tomorrow.
Students completed chapters 3-5 questions for their novel study Touching Spirit Bear and began a dynamic character project in groups on bulletinboard paper.
We read and discussed a forward introduction to our novel by its author, Ben Mikaelsen. We read and responded to chapters 1-2 and will continue with this work on Monday.
