We reviewed reading comprehension strategies for Thursday's exam. Tomorrow's final exam in Science 8. Good luck.
We completed a short quiz and handed in our Giver projects today. The remaining portion of class was dedicated to practice reading comprehension activities in preparation for the final exam next Thursday.
We worked on our Giver projects today. These projects are due for Friday and only some class time will be given tomorrow if possible. We will resume final exam review in class tomorrow and Friday. Thursday's celebrations will interrupt 8-1 and 8-2 LA classes.
We reviewed the first half of our midterm exam from January as a means of preparing for our final exam on the 25th. Students recorded problematic topics and should use their study resources to practice this material prior to their final. Tomorrow students will be given class time to work on their Giver project.
We corrected the unit 1 final exam review in class today. Students are reminded to use this package to study for the first portion of their LA final. We will be completing practice exams next week to help with further prep. We viewed the first 20 min of The Giver in class today. The remainder of the film may be viewed at lunch if students are interested.
Students received a study outline and access to study notes in google classroom. These are available on this site as well under the ELA 8 tab above. We completed a brief vocabulary activity prior to continuing work on our final novel study project which is due on June 19th. We will have library tomorrow. Students are asked to please remember their books.
We discussed the conclusion of our novel today and worked on the personal response questions for chapters 20-23 which are due tomorrow.
Students handed in chapter 14-19 questions. We read chapter 20 together. Students are asked to have chapters 21-23 read for Monday.
We had an excellent discussion in class today focusing on the events of chapters 14-19. I am very proud of the mature response to the issues and themes in this serious novel my grade 8 students have voiced. The personal response questions are due tomorrow as we move into the final chapters of the book.
