Have a safe and enjoyable summer break. ELA 9-3- We completed our 2012 PAT practice exam today. Students are asked to use the online resources linked to the ELA9 tab above to continue with their preparation for the LA PAT on Thursday June 23rd.
ELA 8-1- We completed our practice review of short stories, poems, and non-fiction reading comprehension. Science 7-3- We discussed the review terms for Unit 4 and 5 and worked on the topic 6-7 questions for unit 1. The science final exam for 7-3 is on Monday, June 20th. ELA 9-3- We reviewed the online resources for studying. Students worked on the 2012 released PAT exam for practice.
ELA 8-1- we completed the practice exams for short fiction and poetry. Science 7-3- Students attended a health presentation. ELA 9-3- We discussed the conclusion of our novel study and completed the personal response paragraph prior to work on the characterization poster of the main character, Cole.
ELA 8-1- We completed our reading of Winners and responded to the critical responses questions and paragraph response to the book. Science 7-3- Students completed the topic 1-5 exam and continued work into topic 7 in unit 1. ELA 9-3- We read and completed the novel study today. Students should complete any remaining reading for tomorrow. We will discuss the 24-28 chapter questions before returning to our characterization poster project.
ELA 8-1- We read to chapter 22 today and will conclude our novel study tomorrow. Students will have time in class tomorrow to complete any remaining response questions for our novel study. Science 7-3- We read and reviewed notes for topic 6- succession in the ecosystem. Students had some time to complete and study their review questions for tomorrow's test on topics 1-5. ELA 9-3 we read and discussed events in chapters 20-24. Students continued work on critical response questions and reading to the conclusion of the novel.
ELA 8-1- Some students completed their Part A exam essay while others joined Mrs. O in the library to complete novel study work and reading. Science 7-3- we reviewed concepts from the final exam review guide for Unit 3. We corrected page 55 #1-6 and completed the study guide for Friday's topic 1-5 exam. ELA 9-3- We completed our final star test of the year and visited the library before completing work on chapters 18-24.
ELA 8-1- Most students completed their Part A essay for the final exam. Those absent will be working on completing their essays tomorrow while the others continue with the novel study in the library. Science 7-3- We completed the pH lab activity where we tested various water samples for acidity to determine our ecosystem's health. ELA 9-3- We handed in chapter 14-17 questions. Students continued reading chapters 18-24 today and worked on the critical response questions for this portion of the novel study.
ELA 8-1- Students began writing part A of their final exam. This is an essay response to the question, "How does technology impact people's lives?" Science 7-3- We completed the review questions on page 54 #1-5 and 55 #1-6. Our Topic 1-5 exam is on Friday of this week. ELA 8-1- Students received their essays and feedback to review prior to planning part A of their final exam. We discussed the essay topic for their final exam and began planning in class. Students may complete their outline and bring this into the exam with them. We will be writing the essay portion of our final exam on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Science 7-3- We completed the notes and video for Topic 5 and began working on page 54 #1-5. We will continue with these questions and the topic wrap-up on page 55 on Monday. ELA 8-1- We read and responded to Chapter 14 and 15. Students are to hand in their response questions for chapter 10-13 tomorrow as some were still finishing up.
Science 7-3 - We examined an owl pellet to determine the Niche an owl occupies in the ecosystem and judge the relative health of the ecosystem based on its content. |
