ELA 9- We worked on our Christmas Carol projects. One more class period will be given tomorrow to complete this assignment for Tuesday, December 8th (Date has been moved forward).

ELA 9- We worked on our Christmas Carol project. We will have one more class on Monday for this project that is due Friday December 4th.
ELA 8- We completed our short story exam today. We will begin our novel study I am David on Monday. Science7- We completed our questions 1-6 on page 208. These questions are due for Monday if not done. ELA 9- We began our Christmas Carol project today. We will be working on this project in class over the next two periods. Please bring materials needed with you to make full use of this time.
ELA 8- We reviewed for our short story exam tomorrow and correct the "Feathers in the Wind" questions. Science 7- We completed viewing the Eurika videos and began work on the reflection questions for topic 3. ELA 9- We handed in stave 4 and read stave 5 together. Students received their final project assignment sheet and are asked to bring art supplies to class tomorrow to work on their choice of projects.
ELA 8- We read and responded to a parable/fable "Feathers in the Wind". We will correct the response questions for this and "The Landlady" tomorrow as part of our review for Thursday's unit 2 exam. Science 7- We viewed "Eurika" films after our short quiz. These films demonstrate important aspects of the particle model and the difference between heat and temperature. ELA 9- We completed the stave 4 questions and read the concluding chapter of our novel.
ELA 8- Complete the response questions for "The Landlady" Science 7- We tested the particle model of matter and did the particle dance. Good moves everyone. ELA 9- We finished reading Stave 4. Great chapter as Scrooge approaches his decision to reform. Students began working on their Stave 4 questions. We will complete these Monday and turn them in on Tuesday of next week.
ELA 8- We reviewed genres covered so far and read a great example of a Mystery. Wonderful reaction and discussion by all class members today. Science 7- We completed our topic 2 review. Those not handed in are due Monday. We tested Antoine Lavoisier's caloric fluid theory and disproved this as an explanation of heat. ELA 9- We wrote our business letter exam today. Great to see the diligence in completing this today. I appreciate everyone's efforts, well done.
ELA 8- We worked on the imagery and mood project. This poster project is due Monday. Science 7- We completed our notes for topic 2 and completed a few demos. Students began working on the Topic 2 review assignment which will be due Monday. ELA 9- We reviewed the format for business letters and envelopes for tomorrow's unit 2 exam. We read stave 4 together and will continue with this on Friday. Business letter exam is tomorrow.
ELA 8- We discussed mood and imagery in our last two short stories and began work on a poster project for mood and imagery. We will work on this tomorrow in class and it will be due Monday November 23. Science 7- We completed our response questions for the gas thermometer lab. We completed several demos for thermocouples and bimetallic strips as alternate temperature measuring devices. ELA 9- We completed the stave 3 questions that are due tomorrow. Students visited the library to exchange and renew books. Some students began reading stave 4. We will have a review of business letters tomorrow. Our unit exam for Business Letters is Thursday.
ELA 8- We read and responded to a memoir, "A Desk for my Daughter". Science 7- We completed notes and the activity on page 198, estimating temperatures. ELA 8-We discussed the short story "First Day of the War" and began working on the response questions. We will finish these up on Monday when we return.
ELA 9- We attended the Remembrance Day ceremony in the large gym. 9-3 wrote their missed social exam during period 6 today. Science 7- Students experimented with calibrated and uncalibrated thermometers, measuring various temperatures in and out of the classroom. |
