Science 7- We completed our conductometer lab activity, identifying what metals conduct thermal energy most efficiently. ELA 9- We began our outline for the comparative essay that we will complete in the new year.
ELA 8- We completed our discussion and reading of chapter 3 and worked on the questions. Students will hand in their questions tomorrow after our journal entry work. Science 7- We completed notes for Topic 6 and observed several demonstrations of energy transfer by conduction, convection, and radiation. ELA 9- We completed viewing "On Golden Pond". We will outline our comparative essay tomorrow and begin writing our first drafts on Friday.
ELA 8- We completed a vocabulary activity and continued reading and discussing chapter 3 of our novel. Science 7- We discussed and completed notes on Radiation and Convection as examples of energy transfer. ELA 9- We completed our "Jade Peony" questions and began viewing the film "On Golden Pond" for our comparative essay assignment.
ELA 8- We completed our character outline of David and the questions for Chapter 2 that are due for Monday before beginning our reading of Chapter 3. Science 7- We completed the "plateau problem" lab activity today. We will graph our results next week. ELA 9- We completed a character sketch for both Sek Lung and Grandmama from the short story "The Jade Peony". We will complete the comprehension questions tomorrow before beginning viewing "On Golden Pond" to compare the two stories.
ELA 8- We discussed the events of chapter 2 and began work on the comprehension questions for this section of our novel. These questions are due for Monday. Science 7-3- We completed our notes for topic 5 and prepared the "Plateau Problem" lab for tomorrow.
ELA 9- We completed the star reading assessment and continued work with our short story "The Interlopers"
ELA 8- Students completed their star reading exam. The completed their paragraph responses to Chapter 1's critical questions and created a travel journal. Science 7- We reviewed topics 1-4 in preparation for Wednesday's quiz. Students worked on the 1-4 review in class and began studying heat capacity in topic 5. ELA 9- We read "The Interlopers" and used context clues to define terms while reading.
ELA 8- We reviewed paragraph structure and began our paragraph responses to two critical questions based on chapter 1 of our novel study. Science 7- We completed the Race to the Top lab activity and worked on topic 1-4 review assignments. Page 209 #1-4, 6, 9 is due for Monday. The 1-4 review sheet is due for Tuesday. Our 1-4 exam is Wednesday of next week. ELA 9- We discussed differences and similarities between novels and short stories. We then read some "Short short" stories and tried our hand at producing a few of our own.
ELA 8- We completed the reading of chapter 1 and answered a few interpretation questions. Students began the critical response paragraphs that we will focus on tomorrow in class. Science 7- we completed two expansion and contraction lab activities. Page 2012-213 responses are due tomorrow if not submitted today in class. |
